Our story

In the years following World War II, the founder Duilio Del Bianco, then little more than a boy, began his activity as a beach peddler along the shores of Riccione, selling postcards to holidaymakers. A few years later, in 1951, he obtained permission from the Municipality of Riccione to open a small stall on Viale Ceccarini, dedicated mainly to selling souvenirs and costume jewelry.

The year 1955 marked a fundamental milestone: Duilio received a new license and opened his first real shop on Viale Virgilio. Here he offered gift items, home décor pieces, porcelain, crystal, silverware, as well as artistic costume jewelry and delicate handcrafted flowers designed to embellish dresses, shoes and ceremonial hairstyles.

Year after year, his reputation grew in Riccione and the surrounding area: more and more families turned to him for their special occasions. Mothers accompanied their daughters in preparation for First Communion or Confirmation, while young women sought the perfect accessory for an elegant evening or to fulfill the dream of an unforgettable wedding.

This is how Maddalena Piccari recalls him in her book “...nata in Viale Ceccarini”:

“For years in Via Virgilio in Riccione, the Bijouterie of Duilio Del Bianco represented the dream of many girls. A shop like a little bonbonnière filled with light: necklaces, rings, earrings, brooches, vases, plates, mirrors… Always affable and smiling, Duilio welcomed customers, putting them at ease on the white armchairs.”

In 1962, with the business now well established, it required a larger and more prestigious location, prompting Duilio to move to the vibrant heart of the city, Viale Dante.

In 1981 — thirty years after his beginnings as a simple beach vendor — he received the Gold Medal for loyalty in commerce and tourism, a tribute to his perseverance and the value of his work.

Since 1997, the shop has been located on Viale Ceccarini, where it continues its story to this day.

In 1998, following the sudden and painful passing of the founder, long-standing shop assistant Marino Girometti inherited Duilio’s legacy and decided to carry forward his vision with dedication.

In 2013, the baton passed to Saura Semprini, the current owner and Marino’s niece.

On July 1st, 2025, on the occasion of the shop’s seventieth anniversary, a new and prestigious milestone was reached: its inclusion in the Municipal Register of Historic Shops, awarded by the Municipality of Riccione and Confesercenti.

During the ceremony, the Mayor of Riccione, Daniela Angelini, stated:

“The recognition awarded today represents much more than a title: it is a tribute to the value of commerce as a cultural stronghold, to the role of shops as custodians of stories, relationships, and shared memories. And in a world that changes so quickly, ‘Duilio’ continues to be a steady presence, a window into artisanal beauty and elegance, a small treasure chest of authenticity in the heart of our city.”

The President of Confesercenti, Fabrizio Vagnini, added:

“Presenting this plaque was a particularly moving moment. We are speaking of a business that is part of the soul of Riccione, a place that has witnessed the city’s transformations and its tourism, a corner of authenticity where history, passion and hospitality can be felt.”

Many years have passed; the shop has crossed generations and eras of change, yet its spirit has remained unaltered: a passion for elegance, the pursuit of exclusive objects and an authentic care for every customer continue to shape the identity of Duilio, a shop that still preserves and conveys the beauty of tradition.
